MEET THE OWNER

Ericka Michelle Lassair aka “Chef Diva” is a New Orleans native and Founder of Diva Dawg Food Truck. She graduated from Southern University in Baton, LA and Delgado’s Culinary Arts School. Ericka has appeared on Destination America’s “Last Call Food Brawl,” “Flip My Food,” as well as several local news and radio programs.

In addition, she is the 2014 winner of the Urban League of Greater New Orleans WIB Challenge and the 2015 Capital One Business Plan Pitch winner. She was selected as a Tory Burch Foundation 2016 Fellow and was featured in the January 2017 Vogue issue with Tory Burch.

Ericka is also featured in the book “Adventures of Women Entrepreneurs and Cosmopolitan’s “Get That Life,” where she shares the story of her journey. In July 2017, Ericka was the featured in Essence magazine as the featured Celebrity Chef for Essence Eats and the new 2017 summer movie “Girls Trip” in the Diva Dawg truck.

THE DIVA DAWG BRAND

Diva Dawg, a gourmet hot dog joint, launched in September 2012 on Magazine Street in New Orleans and two years later began rolling as a food truck. The brand’s signature “Diva Dawg,” is homemade and paired with a sweet and savory bun and creole toppings. Our signature Red Bean Chili Dawg topped with fried chicken was featured as one of CondéNast Traveler’s “most unusual franks around the country. Other offerings include our homemade Crawfish Étouffée Fries, Crabmeat Grill Cheesy and Praline Candy Shake.

In 2015 BET spotlighted Diva Dawg as one of its top ten black-owned businesses to visit in New Orleans while Eater New Orleans recently named the Diva Dawg truck “one of the hottest food trucks in New Orleans.”  In 2017, Diva Dawg was a vendor in the Roux Carre food market, and featured in the summer movie “Girls Trip.  It’s not a Hot Dog….It’s a Diva Dawg!
